Chain and ornate connecting ring for mirror frame (1986.008.1499). 1986.008.1499f was connected directly to this piece. One of 11 pieces (see also 1986.008.1499a--d, f--k). The frame could also be the remains of a reliquary. Reliquaries are containers or shrines which are designed to hold sacred objects. Sacred objects fall into orders, ranging from bones or hair of saints, to articles they have worn or used, objects associated with miracles, and others.
